This mug was trimmed and hand carved. After bisque firing, I dipped the entire mug in Isuzu Celedon glaze. I then carefully scraped the dried glaze off the carved area, reapplied as needed and scraped again to expose the rich earthy colors the clay.
High fired Amador stoneware clay to cone 10.
